Orissa: govt adopts families
by labrea on Mar 06, 2006 11:05 PM

The first thing would be for the govt to provide proper homes with in-door plumbing and electricity. Secondly, they should make avilable land for growing kitchen vegetables if farm lands are unavailable, and set up with some kind of small business, and given basic lessons in business. Thirdly, their compensation funds should be invested in high-yield deposit certificates. Fourthly, all ther children must be assured of fully-supported, proper primary education and higher education if they qualify for entrance to universities or technical institutes all overseen by reputable NGOs - it's the least the state can do for the atrocities committed against these families.
