Hi! I've had this idea for a while... it addresses the issues corruption and traffic lawlessness. Personaly, I believe that the Fines should be 10 times the amount they currently are. Rs. 100 for parking in a No Parking zone is trivial. Also, the cop will take Rs. 50 from you, so it's effectively Rs. 50. And the government doesn't see a dime.
So here's what you do... all fines are increased by a factor of 10 to 20. Rs. 2000 being the minimal fine. Whatever the fine, the cop making the arrest gets 50% and 50% goes to the government. If you cannot pay the fine, then your vehicle is confiscated. If the fine is not paid withing 3 days, it is doubled. If not paid within a week, your vehicle is auctioned away.
