Ten Things I Hate About India
by Ved Vedamanikam on Jun 22, 2006 09:54 PM

Let me add a few more things I hate about India:

1. The horrible caste system, which is directly or indirectly responsible for the highest number of illiterates in the world (50% plus). India's performance in primary education has been disgraceful - an intellectual holocast.

2. The system of bonded labor, a direct result of fuedalism as well as the evil caste system.

3. A significant % of upwardly mobile middle class people have embraced the worst values of India and the West, while shunning the best of both.

4. Horrible medical care. Although India has brilliant doctors and the latest medical facilities in a few urban areas, 95% of the people have no access to basic quality medical care. A national disgrace.

5. No value for life, especially that of the poor. The lack of a decent 911 emergency response system, results in hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths.

6. The obsession with cricket, possibly the most boring and stupid game in the world (apart from baseball), which has resulted in the neglect of all other sports. Cricket has risen in India due the higher caste folk favoring it. See item # 1.

I could go on and on.
