Reply to the French Man
by Amitabha on Jul 11, 2006 11:53 PM

I am slightly surprised at the article. India is not a developed country but for people like me who work in Francophone Africa, India is really a developed country compared to the state of the Africans in French colonies. There are pathetic roads, buildings are terrible, if they dont belong to the French or the President. There is discrimination and racism to an alarming level. French have monopolized every business by paying out money and making uncivilized margins and are detesting the competition from Indian and Chinese. Even in Paris, I see French dont normally sit next to an Indian and we all saw how they booed the French footballer Vikash Dhorasoo when he was in field. As an NRI, I am supposed to pay exactly the same as a white man pays when I visit touristic places in India and I feel its high for India, but lower than many places in Europe. I pay Rs 750 to visit Taj Mahal and 20 Euros to visit Madame Tussaud's museum. SO whats the big deal? I think our French friend has not liked India like many others and its very clear from the article. Hope all French community dont take india by this article only.
