Prof, You are 100% right
by Jagadeesan Subbarayan on Jun 19, 2006 05:39 AM

Sir,

You were right in pointing out that only who strive for the education would benefit out of it and make India prouder.

Britishers followed the "Divide and Rule" and our good politicians are following their very foot steps and thereby weakening not only Indian education but also these very people for whom they are suddenly protective.

Once a person comes thru resevation and not thru merit it affects the very essence of the harmony in the eductaional institution.

Instead, as you rigtly pointed out, teachers at school should take special care of students (whatever caste) who are not much gifted with learning quick and also instigate the fire to learn/achieve as your science teacher did.

Dr.Ambedkar, the God for Dalits, did get the good teacher who helped in thru the barriers of learning.

Goverment should start looking at the basic education being provided, students would automatically come thru merit and help India shine.

Government schools faculties are among those who avoid doing justice to their work, whip them up. I apologise for the language, but I meant only those who didn't do the justice to their work.

Last but not the least, article was excellent
