Finally!
by lakshmi on Jun 09, 2006 04:17 PM

Hi,
I really liked the way you have brought out the truth. Reservations must exist to some extent in terms of scholarships and tution waivers. You are discussing the level at IIT, but the fact is when you are not competent for a course you just cannot clear it successfully at any level. I have done my Masters in Comp Science in India and when we started our courses we were a total of 40 in the class which diminished to almost 25 at the end. All those who were given crutches limped out. Poeple should stop being vote banks and use their brains instead. All this reservations just reduces the quality. We would have been 40 bright students pasing out that year instead of 25 if there werent any reservations. In the end, whether anti-reservations or pro-reservation people win, INDIA just loses.
"India is the only country in the world where people fight to be called backward".

Thanks once again for a eye-opening article.

Regards
