Then and Now
by Sunil on Jul 26, 2006 03:40 PM

The govt has done somethings to widen/Clean the roads and Storm Water drains. BUT the dirt is being put back into the storm water drains either by the daily sweepers. When they clean the drains they pile the filth at the side of the drains which waits for aroudn 10 days for the next contractor to clear it. In the meanwhile it dries and goes back into the drains.

However as CITIZENS we too owe towards the disaster by littering. We will still take the unauthorised Plastic bag from the vegtable vendor as it is convenient. We will still throw the packets of wafers and snacks (Packaged snacks) out of our cars after eating. All these will still go into the drainage system.

Blame should fall on both rather than asking how much did the govt do, we should also ask how much we did towards reducing the garbage piles.....
