Dear All! Everyone who was present in Mumbai during 26/7 last year will have their own horrific stories to recount.I was stuck for 2 days in my office at Nariman Point while my Ground Floor flat in Vile parle was inundated. Not that the situation is any better now. Despite tall claims by the Administration , we struggle with our day to day life and live in constant fear of terrorist threats. More than the fear, we are engulfed in a sense of helplessness knowing that the persons in power simply do not have the will to protect us from calamities. They are only interested in appeasing their votebanks and filling their personal coffers. They live in high security zones and do not travel in Public Transport.Their kids , whatever be their level of merit go abroad to study. They do not have to compete for the few seats that are left after Reservation. I think it is we the citizens who are to be blamed for electing such people on the first place. Politics has become a happy hunting ground for unscrupulous people because good citizens do not come forward to join public life. After getting educated at highly subsidised higher institutions of learning, they emigrate to greener pastures.
