I am an NRI who happened to travel with family for annual vacations to Kerala this summer. One normally expects, and rarely experiences, pleasant behaviour from the Customs & Immigration. At best they are with their robotic, stare at the face demeanour. I do not know who made the difference this time around. May be the Officer ( who looked to be in-charge of the airport from his shoulder stripes) or may be from the top. This officer was waiting at the arrival hall, smiling & politely ensuring that the passengers are not harassed by anyone. I found it pleasantly surprising. Some of the youngsters in the cadre seem to have got it right, right in the beginning of their career!!That's grt news for the travelling public!!
