26/7 was a indelible mark in the minds of every Mumbaikar .Whether someone walked the night through waist deep waters with no help from the authorities or someone like me whose car was submerged (thanks to BMC cleaning up of sewers)27/7 haunts all of us .
This is because despite a year of its occurence little has been done for citizens of a metropolis which prides itself as the highest tax payers be it in form of coporate tax , service tax or personal taxes .
The govt has over the years not spared the common man in coercing and sometimes threating to pay his dues .Surprise checks by excise authorities ,tax eagles prying on our purchases of LCD , credit card spending ,even mutual munds with missives of computer generated reminders .
Has its done its own duties of providing a decent standard of living for those who contribute this . Has its questioned the politicians who have stashed away wealth in form on cleverly benami accounts .
We mumbaikers should not not give in to the double standards of the authorities and for resistance group and file protests .
