I was held up in office on that fateful day while my house was submerged under water. My wife and 2yr old son just managed to come out on time with help of neighbours. Every year there has been water clogging in our area, thanks to builder lobby which acquired salt pans and small lakes in the area to construct towers. Unfortunately, there is no officer or politicians knowledgeable enough to foresee what could happen when new project is coming up in the area. What are pros & cons. No detailed studies are made, infact if they found there could be serious problems due to new project, they will corner the promoter to cough up more money to get sanctions. Also, ordinary citizen should take care of not littering the area, avoid using plastic bags. Follow up with administration for regular cleanup of gutters and nallahs in your area. Hope Mumbai administration learn something from the incident and plan for better Mumbai. Also, Politicians need to keep their personal goals aside while considering public demands.
