Trains and bus services between India and Pakistan
by C V R Bharati on Jul 12, 2006 09:03 PM

Knowing the efficiency and the corruption prevalent in our police agencies, it may be more appropriate to stop the bus and train services between Pakistan and India. Thro these routes, the terrorists must be bringing in men and material more easily, by resorting to bribing etc., if caught in their act. I remember that during the days of Punjab unrest, the posting of Police in the areas adjoining the Pak border used to be sold for millions of rupees. Because a posting in such a place would bring in very high rewards in the form of bribes from the terrorists bringing in material across the border.Given the corruption that is all prevalent in our police forces who man such posts, it is necessary that we revist the decision to open the bus and train services with our neighbour who is hell bent on creating mayhem in our country.
