Why are you restricting to only three crime incidents?
The prevented crime incidents can not be given any number. These goes unsung / un-noticed.
Yes, there are many incidents, where perpetrators were prevented / disallowed / caught due to preventive measures. But, none of these can be discussed even in most of the closed groups and definitely not in any open forum like this. You will appreciate that smart crooked brains will start finding the ways and means to break the prevention.
The value of prevention will be known, when the protective covers from your electrical appliances are removed; when all security watchmen and policemen are sent on leave for even 1 day; all the safety rules are allowed to be broken for 1 day; traffic / railway signals go haywire; etc.
With the evolution of technology, lot of crimes are going hi-tech, where most of the preventive mechanisms are still old-tech. This mis-match needs to be addressed.
The essence of the article was to draw attention towards prevention of hi-tech crimes, specially related to IT.
