GSLV Failure : Is it the end of it?
by Deepak Dhingra on Jul 11, 2006 04:42 PM

Kudos to Rediff and Govindraj for having put an article that tells about ISRO's Success rather than yesterday's failure of GSLV. While newspapers are full of news talking about GSLV failure and doubts over future of Indian Space Program, one fails to understand that do we always need to sensationalise all news items for the heck of it?? The achievements of ISRO cannot be written-off in one go.
It really makes sense to put things in the right perspective, as you have done. At the same time, I wish to suggest that when we say that Antrix Corporation earns 400 Crores, there should be comparisons available. How much it compares with other space agencies or even for that matter other govt. agencies?
While it is understandable to quote Dr. Kasturirangan and Kiran Karnik's experiences at ISRO, checking up the motivation factor of employees at the lower levels is perhaps what could have been mentioned.
