Women entering temple
by Amit on Jul 06, 2006 04:25 AM

Its sad to see people supporting this discrimination, obviously put by priests who managed to stifle the growth of hinduism with such arcane, whimsical laws. Would we justify Devdasi or human sacrifice in name of centuries old tradition?

These are the exact set of malpractices Raja Rammohan Roy tried to weed out, but i guess we are still 200 years behind. Religion is to bring people together, not to discriminate between them. I dont care if this lady is doing this for propoganda or whatever, the stance of this selective entrance is not just. "Dont interfere with religion, our rich and ancient culture" is no justification for keeping your eyes shut and forcing others to do the same.
