Menses to women differentiate them!
by B.Gautam on Jul 06, 2006 05:43 PM

Restrictions to women in the temples, especially in the sanctum sanctorum do have certain strong scientific reasons behind, besides spiritual significance!
No one can dispute about the fact that ONLY women have menses for few days every month when they bleed from their private parts! I suppose men don't have menses! Even when urine is passed, it needs to be cleaned by a wash with soap etc., Well, if they don't, apart from its internal stink, it is totally unhygienic even to remain at home that might lead to spread of some diseases! Further, such periods vary from woman to woman totally depending upon their respective constitutions of the body. Range of age was thus safely fixed to avoid such women with menses from 10 yrs to 60 yrs! In general, unmarried bachelors are kept away from such information of women in menses. Thus, the concept was extended to bachelor Gods too as sanctum sanctorums of any God are very auspicious and certainly that of bachelor Gods too!
It is relevant in health point of view too considering general conditions of hygiene! Perhaps, women in that age group should be kept away from sanctum santorums of all Gods! Perhaps, those who oppose such restrictions are enlightened now!
