Aren't women human beings ?
by Venkateswaran on Jul 05, 2006 06:05 PM

The visit to Sabarimal requires the pilgrims to live a certain kind of life for 41 days, which includes daily pooja and temple visits etc. As per tradition in kerala a woman would not enter the temple during her periods and hence it is impossible for a menstruating lady to complete the rituals.

That is the only reason for prohibiting ladies of menstruating age from visiting sabarimala.
All individuals who do not know the reason, please do not make statements of male chauvinism.

Visiting Sabarimala is a holy experience and not a style statement and hence tradition needs to be followed.
