Odds are against Congress this time. Opportunity has come knocking for Kumaraswamy and Yediyurappa. They cannot ever hold top posts if they leave this opportunity. Also, this alliance of convenience is mutually beneficial as the bases of these two parties are different. JD(S)'s base is in southern Karnataka (where vokkaligas are in majority) whereas BJP is popular in northern and coastal Karnataka (where veerashaivas are in majority). Choice of Kumaraswamy need not be bad after all as he known to get the job done by hook or crook. I think Dharam Singh failed miserably on that. Even if the government is corrupt the state will prosper if things are moving (e.g.. TN under Jayalalitha or Sharad Pawar's Maharastra).
