Does not rediff has a reporter who has any knowledge of UP politics. When Rajnath Singh says that he won't give party tickets to people with criminal background, he should be asked about his relationship with Pratapgarh terror Raja bhaiya. Rajnath Singh was one of his most vocal supporters when he was in jail. And it is alleged that he took Raja bhaiya's help to protect his ministry when Naresh Aggrawal was sacked (no point for guessing how the ministry was protected). How can he claim that he won't give party tickets to criminals when he does not mind taking their help. May be he will just have weak candidates where BJP friendly criminals are contesting and then these criminals can support BJP govt as independent as Raja bhaiya did.
Disclaimer: Raja bhaiya is a friend of Mulayam as well and it was Mulayam who released him out of the jail. I am not saying that BJP is the only culprit and all other parties are saints. But then isn't BJP supposed to be different from SP.
