I'm ignorant too. My wife is a doctor and what she says is that the VIRUS COULD MUTATE INTO SOME FORM WHICH COULD EASILY TRANSMIT AMONG HUMANS and cause pandemic. That is why the govt and people who understand the consequencs are afraid about. I was told that many disease like Small pox and Chicken pox originated in animals and then mutated (To change the genetic material of a cell. The changes (mutations) can be harmful, beneficial, or have no effect) into humans to cause the harm. To eradicate those diseases it took decades then. Now the world population in much more than a few decades ago and since enough vaccine is not available, we are trying to prevent history from repeating. NOW THE AUTHOR and MANY OTHER'S so called "Chaltha hai" attitude will change. American's I think are not a pampered society but have the knowledge of these things and is why are taking steps right now to do research on it.I would say IGNORANCE is what caused us to have the "chaltha Hai" attitude. We may have a degree and theoretical knowledge but not enough knowledge about practical life.At this time the VIRUS FOUND IN BIRDS could go to humans but not transmit among Humans.
