While it is clear that being a non-aligned country, we should not take sides on an issue merely because of another country's economic/defence prowess. In addition, the FDI rolling in from the Indian diaspora, as reflected from our foreign exchange reserves, may make it imperative for the PM to be very cautious and suitably adapt our foreign policy based on the current situation without making any blanket generalization. The other point is that, our brethren abroad are "burning the midnight oil" which, in turn, would reflect on the calibre of the "Indian Psyche and its enormous potential". Their emotional attachment would also compel them to contribute and do their mite, however little it may be, to the welfare for their country of origin.
