Endemic discrimination against Hindus
by andre on Apr 25, 2006 03:35 AM

I am an avid reader of Mr. Srinivasan's articles. I like his style, his logic, the impeccable English and more than anything else, his immense knowledge of the subjects he writes about.
Well, having said this, I wonder if this article has gone one bit too far in glorifying Hinduism and condemning Christianity. Theory apart, as a Catholic who lived in India all my life, till I came to the USA a few months ago, I know this much. Christianity for all it's so called 'violent preachings' is the only religion that does something in real life for the upliftment of the underpriveleged amongst us. India has countless Christian run hospitals and schools in places where the holiest of Hindus fear to tread, and running these schools and hospitals comes with a stiff price.....sometimes, the lives of people who take up this challenge in the name of Christ. The burning of Stanes and his children while they slept is the most barbaric of many such incidents which are not uncommon these days in India. India is a wonderful country and Hinduism a beautiful religion. I lived in India for 40 years and NEVER for a second did I feel discriminated against as a follower of the Catholc faith.JAIHIND!
