Your post really makes a point.
Why can't people be allowed to get converted to Hinduism?
Let me first welcome you to "Hinduism", though I cannot really welcome you... I am a "born Hindu brahmin turned atheist". But hopefully I can provide a neutral view due to this very reason.
By the way what is Hinduism? I don't think that it is a religion.I think should be viewed more as a way of life. A way of life in which you respect higher life forms(read vegetarian) and work towards spiritual(read mind) fulfillment. As a matter of fact the above two reasons are the pillars of all the religions that have been founded in the subcontinent. I feel that Hinduism is one greatest evolving religions (where else would Buddha been accepted as one of the dashavathars!!!). It's time that Hindus start accepting that other people can follow Hinduism.
I would like to stress on the point that I am not canvassing for Hinduism. Personally I prefer Buddhism if forced to choose a religion.

As for Rajeev Srinivasan...
Hindus need to accept that there are numerous evil problems in Hinduism. I think that Hindus should canvassing to get the good features of Hinduism known to the world.
