RE: Bigotry and Prejudice
by S V on Feb 06, 2006 03:53 PM

It is sad that the founding fathers
of modern India decided not to have a
state religion (which would have been
Hinduism). Thus they gave away too much -

A separate state was created for those
who wanted nothing to do with Hindus,
and total freedom was given to those
who chose to stay on with the Hindus.

They were short-sighted, they did not
see how this freedom could be abused
in the long-run. They acted with
typical large-hearted Hindu generosity
and trust and openness.

Time to rectify the mistakes they made.
