fertile land & tata cars
by k.s.ramchander rao on Dec 29, 2006 10:38 AM

we are already besieged with the problems of gaining greenery, the forest cover standing at staggering figure of 12%. On the one hand the central govt. is planning to restore the lost forest cover to 33% by 2012! we don't know whether the govt. is really committed for it! on the other, fertile land is being used to promote industry! what a great service we are doing, at a time when Dr.swaminathan is dreaming of second green revolution. No country which thinks of becoming a developed country in the present era can ignore the forestry and agriculture. We are already under tremendous stress due to problems caused by induystrial revolution. The question here is do we require more cars or do we require a sustainable earth? I leave it to the people to ponder upon this issue! Every state govt. must be transparent when dealing with public issues because they are elected public representatives.
