This deal is of strategic importance. what we try to acheive as part of this deal is to access the Nuclear market for fuel which we are not allowed to and that too if we need. It's an option. As the columnist mentioned, it's only 3%, but as per our plan we should have had 20,000MW by now. We are not able to acheive this b'cos we were alienated. Not that's gone. Good joke, from solar & wind energy we would be able to burn heat our water tanks and light a few houses, no where sufficient to light up a city or for runnning a industrial unit. yes, we do have good thorium reserves, but we don't have enough technology or resources to convert it into nuclear energy. Surrendering our foreign policy doesnt make any sense. To becoming a junior partner, yes what's wrong. Would we ever be able to win in isolation, all we could do was have two pokhrans for our nuclear arsenal. Was there any significant return on our investment which we could count for ? it caused us more losses and we got cut off from the world indirectly for few years, thereby becoming technologically backward. Now it's time to use advantage of our good relationship with US and make good profit of it in all ways.
