mumbai immigration are rude
by manish on Jan 02, 2007 12:54 AM

its all too familiar. for god's sake, they were children....rules need to be applied with common sense. its suspicious the french citizen got a transit visa....there are atleast a few thousand foreign nationals who 'overstay' in mumbai each year beyong their visa and then get it extended by dubious means...it would be interesting to know what the immigration police are doing about them... i am a doctor from bangalore. i live in the UK. whenever i go via mumbai, the officials are rude, never smile and sometimes treat us like sheep. they gave me and my wife separate seats on a plane far away from each other. they speak marathi at the airport assuming all of us speak marathi too...they dont smile back if u do.

the toilets have tissue paper OUTSIDE the toilet....!!!! need i say more...

i now fly to bangalore direct...not that people at bangalore are fantastic...but they speak english and smile once in a way...
