I too have no pity for the couple since in all likelyhood the couple should have thought that we have greencards, why even bother to carry visas for our kids. The fact that the authorities did not verify their kids' visas is no excuse but in fact, they could have realised at least then that they have forgotten to carry the passports and should have proceeded back home to get the passports. I know of many instances where parents had to leave the kids behind at the departing airport itself since they either forgot the passport or they realised that the passport had expired only then. When officials follow the rule very strictly and the decision against your favour, the decision is critisised whereas when the rules are bent, then again it is critisised. Officials should be let what the rule says. Just because we are penalised, we cannot start complaining that officials should bend the rules for us. Its a very very bad attitude.
