I agree it was shameful. The customs and immigration officials are underpaid and live in cities which have a high cost of living.So they are forced to take bribes to do favors.They have forgotten that they are there to serve people.In a place where there is a huge numbers of people flocking this happens frequently. This family should have contacted US Embassy in Mumbai - who are powerful than anyone.
