I too strongly disagree with the tone of the letter. I am an NRI and have so far never faced any descrimination due to the color of my skin in US. If a similar incident had occured in US, I am sure the authorities would have made us wait at the airport lounge till the necessary paperwork was faxed. But I also agree the parents were a bit irresponsible for overlooking the most basic thing about their children's travel.
