I sympathize with the situation you went through. But the immigration officer were doing their duty. I have been residing in US for a long time and here at immigration they dont even let you speak if you are at fault with your documents. Just being an indian doesn't allow us to blame indian officals for our own fault. In US we silently listen to them where as in india we take everything for granted. I have seen many cases even after having genuine papers people were sent back from US.
officials have done their job. Respect it. Certainly having a bad experience is unwelcome but process and policy are there to be followed and as you have been in US for a long time you very much understand how we respect it so it should be same case for indian officals
