I have same experience when i travelled to India. I had worst experience when i landed in mumbai. They sold my connecting flight seat to someone else because my flight was late 20min.i spent 1 hour in the customs. He will not let me go unless i pay him money. He was asking $200 and i dint had somuch cash with me in dollars and he just does not want to listen. I was begging him that we will miss our connecting flight to hyderabad. My daughther and my wife were so tired. I missed my flight and i have to buy new ticket after staying in mumbai for 12 hours.
That day i decided i will never ever in my life travel to India via mumbai. i am willing to spend more money for my tickets than going to mumbai. very bad people.
