Aiding Bangladesh to win freedom
by Kumar on Dec 06, 2006 07:51 AM

Indian armed forces victory over Pakistan on 16 December 1971 has created history. Pakistan surrendered to India with over 100,000 people. To dislodge terrorist Pakistans eastern wing has definitely done better to India without any doubt.
After humiliating defeat, Pak could not raise their head for over 10 years.Thats why Pak does not talk about Simla agreement of 1972.

It was Soviet intervention in Afghanistan in 1979 , that benefitted Pak with sophisticated arms, ammunitions from US and western countries, and also flow of oil funds to Pak from oil rich nations.
From 1981 Pak started to train and finance Khalistanis to raise against India.
When that failed, Pak started to nurture Taliban who gradually became powerful and Taliban & Pak combined occupied Afghanistan in 1995. Taliban regime was recognised by three countries- Pak,Saudi and UAE.
In the meantime Pak started terrorism in Kashmir in 1989. As Pak could not digest the humiliating defeat of 1971, they wanted to take revenge by sheer terrorism to snatch Kashmir from India and failed.
Pak would have remained dangerous if eastern wing was still there and they would have nuclear facilities in Jessore by now.
