The State of India's Democracy
by Dhiren on Dec 02, 2006 03:35 AM

While protest is legitimate in a democracy, vandalism is not. If it is done by members of the elected community who are in fact supposed to uphold values of the country, it is a shame.

In my opinion, the party responsible for such acts should be made to pay for this. The Government should pass a law that enables them to cut salaries of MPs and MLAs to pay for any such damage. This is the only way they can become more responsible.
