I understand author's frustation. Even I will like to have reservation free system. But its possible only when all in society are treated same irrespective of their caste &sex.Everyone shud get equal opportunities to succeed. Even in USA this is not happened.Thats why they introduced affirmative action for Black people.
I agree with Author that this is a plot of political parties to get votes.But there is no other solution to improve the conditions of backward class people.You must be writing this article sitting in some city. But have you gone to any villages to see their misery. You said goverment has to work on grass root level to improve primary education. But goverment itself is madeup of upper class people.I will give a good example for this. In maharshta goverment , SC/ST posts are not getting filled purposely.Because if they remain vacant for 1-2 years they can filled by temporary upper cast candidates.Results of reservation will take atleast 2-3 generation to show the result.Its hardly two generations after Independence.I think best way to end reservation is throw yout caste. Then we will create castless and hence Reservation less system.
