India must stand by Balochs
by A.R. Khan on Aug 28, 2006 05:06 PM

The peoples of India and Pakistan do really want peace in its real sense. A durable and long lasting peace based on justice and equality will certainly change the face of the region as a whole. However, it is very painful to note that whenever pakistan faces an internal political unrest, the indian media and some unscuruplous politicians jump to fuel the unrest by maligning the pakistani rulers and inciting the restive elements within Pakistan. This is not the first article written by an indian on akbar bugti's fate (Ihave read a couple of others as well) which is highly biased and mischievous. These writers have not taken into account what akbar bugti's own tribesmen have said about their chieftain.Akbar bugti was a tyrant sardar who subjugated his tribesmen with utter brutality and ruthlessness. Tens of thousands of his own tribesmen left their ancestral homes and took shelter in other parts of pakistan. There were no schools in his area and and a few opened by the government were deserted and he never allowed childrens education.Tribal chiefs recently held had already dethroned him and abolished sardari system. This highly biased article didn't mention such hard facts.Regrettable.
