We certainly need to cultivate good relations with US but not at Indias peril.
Australia has the largest source of uranium supply and Australia has made it clear that till India signs NPT, Australia will not allow any uranium supplies to India from Australia. This point is being repeatedly missed in the N-deal with US. It is thus clear that this deal with US is only for N-disarming of India. Our PM is fooling India by cooking up imaginary benefits for India which are totally ghost and will not be available to India.
Since the PM has no understanding of the N-deal, he needs to go by the advice of experts and not make it his own prestige issue. It is a disastrous deal on all accounts and there are no advantages which exist only in PMs imagination. It is just anti-India.
We have a lot in common with US and we are natural allies for US but US is propelled by its desire to remain only Super Power in the world where India is seen as a competitor by US and not as a desirable natural ally.
Let our PM show some wisdom and call off the deal at once.
