Inevitably Yes
by Bhavesh on Aug 25, 2006 10:01 AM

In these days of tightened airport security, even the passengers have to be more responsible. When it is an international safety regulation to switch off the cellphones when inside a flight, I have seen many just using the silent mode while on flight, or switching them on as soon as the flight starts its descent. If you ask them to switch it off, they look at you as if you are some goody-two-shoe pain-in-the-whatever. In this case, perhaps such an extreme measure was not warranted - but I don't put the blame on the airlines. If the passengers don't cooperate - especially when everyone is paranoid about air travels, something has to be done. A BA flight was diverted a few months back because one of the passengers was quite drunk, and became unruly to the air stewardesses. It was not even a safety issue. Yes...there is, and would be, obviously a racial bias - what are you going to do? Are you going to stop traveling to US and other countries? Oh no...the US of A is the land of opportunities - isn't it?
