Vande mataram should be recited with pride
by nagesha on Aug 24, 2006 03:58 PM

I strongly propose that Vande Mataram should be recited with pride and not because the govt. is asking us to. In every other communal debate, Muslims try to prove it with so many irrelevant examples that they are 'true Indians'. If they feel there first loyalty is to the nation and second to their religion, then why hesitate in singing it. It just clearly shows that they identify themselves with the global islamic community and not with this great nation and not with the great leaders who sacrificed their lives for today's independence. The religious leaders wont give a second thought while fighting against the 'injustice' against Osama or lebanon. Never have they fought against Pakistan's terrorism, so how could you expec them to sing in praise of Mother India. Let the communal forces sing it and the secular forces oppose the glory of this great patriotic song. Not to forget this is the song which held the entire nation in one thread during our fight for independence.
