Vande Mataram is the national song of India. The song was composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in a highly Sanskritized form of the Bengali language and first appeared in his book Anandamatha."Vande Mataram" was the national cry for freedom from British oppression during the freedom movement. I still remember the song being played in Doordarshan during the morning. It generated the same amount of calmness to a wearied soul as much it instills the passion for the motherland to a patriot. Just sing it for the sake of singing to one of the best poetry ever composed. It never meant to hurt the feelings of any community or religion, but bound the whole country together in a strand of pride and love towards one's country.Today's politicians have made a mockery of every thing by pulling them into controversies. It's time the young people of the country give the emblems of our country its due and not let power hungry, caste driven, criminal politicians ruin our country. Let us respect the faith of everyone in the country and let us stand shoulder to shoulder irrespective of caste, creed, faith for the land that has given us everything.
