Mumbai placed on red alert
by Raaj on Aug 20, 2006 03:06 PM

This is something really wierd, on a day when there is nothing special about why would all the security agencies throw up the need for such an alert.

Rajiv Gandhi's has nothing to do with any terroist activity and even if it was it would be in Karunanidhi's tamil nadu. Parsi New year day also shouldn't figure for there are hardly any parsis around and none have ever played with terrorist emotions or raised reasons for them.

I would rather the security agencies keep their eyes and ears open for weekdays when people would be out working. It would be a great achievement if some terrorists were actually tried and punished, 1993 still awaits any such action, rather than just keep alerting people and finding like the weather bureau that they are wrong all the time yet playing with the minds of the people, so leaving behind irreparable psychological damage. One hand the PM asserts they cannot bend us and does nothing to straighten things up, looks more hype and lip sympathy than any serious strategy at work.
