The stark reality of life is that only the poor is killed in every riot or social unrest, as s/he is weak. I haven't come across any rich muslim,or any rich hindu being killed in the past 25 years. Hating a poor is easy, as he is almost defenceless and lack the resource to retaliate. So there is only one identity, the socio-economic status, the rest are all colourful wrapings of little practical value. Unfortunately, this discrimination will continue in future as well and so the debate, as the number of poor will always outnumber the rich, especially in developing countries.
