Afghanistan: America's options - what about India?
by Bobby Mahal on Aug 19, 2006 09:23 AM

While the author put forward good and credible thoughts and arguements about US's "state-of-denial" in Afghanistan, don't you get the feeling that he and a majority of us are in the same phase of mind over Kashmir - a state-of-denial?

Why are we so afraid to have an open debate about the Kashmir issue and why is that anyone who does raise the issue is quickly branded as unpatriotic or worse - a paki. Why do we have blinders on and not discuss options for Kashmir - as providing subsidies, appeasement, and the presence (and cost) of an army deployment doesn't seem to be solving the problem. Why then can't we have a sensible debate abt it so that the Kashmiris - Hindus and muslims - can get a semblence of a chance to live their lives in peace?
