Well Said Justice !
by Abhilash on Aug 14, 2006 07:11 PM

V R Krishna Iyer has critically pointed out the facts about the present independance of India. If our constitution says we are socialist, we better be socialist. Its evidently clear that the poor is becoming poorer and the rich is becoming richer, in India.
Streets and busy roads of the city where I live today are now flooded with poor children selling national flags. Would anyone feel national pride and buy flags from them, and feel happy for the country ? (Respecting the fact that buying a flag from them is better than totally ignoring them. a flag sold, would fetch them a few cents).
Gandhiji's vision was an India with rich and prospering villages. And today we have a handful of cities with sky-rocketing living costs, and occassional millionaires and a lot of multinationals looting the sweat of every hardworking Indian.
I dont know if there is a solution existing, as every ism has a counter ism. But I know for sure, India is not developing. Instead, it is segmented and certain class is enjoying the benefits of reforms while the majority still battle their life out for a sqare meal and smile.
