RE:V.R.Krishna Iyer interview
by Raja Mohan on Aug 17, 2006 10:17 AM

Dear Shiva,
Thanks for providing more information on charity work from respected AMMA.
However, the point mentioned in the article was about education being expensive. Why should one charge heavily and then do charity with that money?
I know a doctor in Secunderabad, who is Satya Sai Baba devotee. He charges people like me heavily because I am earning reasonably. At the same time, he charged nothing from many poor people in front of me. I also know a singer who earns lakh a day but sings free for some organizations. I appreciate the efforts from respected AMMA, but expect that the school which her trust runs can offer education to other people as well instead of restricting to only rich people. I understand there are practical difficulties because rich people send to expensive schools only to ensure that all the neobours of their kids belong to same class. But it is not impossible. At the same time, I agree that it is AMMA's trust who decide what is good and what is wrong.
At the end, I also want to tell that when I was running a professional course, I charged heavily from NRI's in dollars but reasonable amount from Indian residents. We ran that way for 3 year
