Best way to tackle Nuclear Deal
by Yogi on Aug 13, 2006 09:07 PM

Most of the people esp in Defence have strong reservations about this deal even in its original form but the govt. doesn't seem to take them into consideration. Now, the best way to get something done with the US is for the Indian Parliament to shoot it down or force the govt. to make its own changes/keep the status quo or do whatever. Only then the US govt. will listen to the Indian govt. - under the disguise of the decision being a result of 'democracy' ...and that is the ONLY voice US will ever listen to, the Indian govt. can get the reasoning it needs not to accept the changes. US listens to nothing else (sometimes not even to democratic decisions of other countries when it doesn't suit them - remember the victory of Hamas in the elections!) but it is still the only way to get from them what India wants.
