Global war on terror
by Ravikant on Aug 13, 2006 12:21 PM

Dr Singh has correctly analysed the grounds of terrorism and identified radical ideology to be the main cause of terror in the society.
There is nothing new about secret societies and terrorist organisations. What has changed is the level of resources at their disposal to commit acts of terror.
A terror network operates very much like a crime network. The methods to control and implement their plans are similar. The only difference is that a terrorist will court death based on some abstract theory and belief, while a criminal faces death in violent encounters or capital punishments.
While unearthing terror gangs( modules) is very much police work there, the appropriate conviction and punishment is a totally different game. We need a terrorist laws to convict not only active terrorists but also their support groups.A different court to administer justice and punishment.
The experience of the developed countries may be a pointer to waging the war on terrorism of all kinds.
