The BJP started off by projecting them selves as a nationalist party but when in govt and the govt of running a coalition govt made them look more like the congress. During their end specially when Vajpaee and Advani played the minority card of appeasement. Where as their ideology was to promote equal oppurtunity for all. But they slipped badly. I see that as a major factor in their downfall.
