death of an ever greiving father!
by Vidya Ramanathan on Apr 25, 2006 09:15 PM

Mr. Srinivasan, I cannot but agree with you wholeheartedly. I too remember watching the movie 'Piravi' and immediately remembered the story as soon as I read the first few lines of your article! Such was the impact of the movie I saw almost a decade ago!
I did not know of the passing away of this man untill I read your article.

Very true that we have an ugly culture of hero-worshipping in our country and most of them are nothing more than props in our society.

I wish we were more mature and aware as citizens. It really pains me to see a whole city shut down due to the death of a film star, people taking intrest in current event only if they are patronised by leading movie stars, etc. No wonder then no true heros are ever recogonised in this land of ours. The only heros we have are those underperforming cricketers to useless film stars and overrated politicians.
