Reality check for all those who oppose the ban
by Vasan Thatai on Apr 15, 2006 12:26 PM

There are several cases wherein the civil society has lost much for a smaller gain like employment.
1) Please check how many people gain and how many people lose?
Gainers : Only unscrupulous businessmen (hoteliers) and few ladies.
Losers: Several students, office goers, bread earners.

2)Please check the total losses suffered by the individuals? Don't go by the state exchequer or those few employed in dance bars?
I am from Mumbai. I know atleast five persons of my locality who have lost their savings, three students who lost their direction towards life by chasing the ladies in bars. 02 Medical Representatives not attending to the field .. giving false calls...ultimately losing jobs.

One can very well understand that morality is left to individuals. However the state also needs to contribute in maintaining it.

Those who oppose the ban ..whether they know what type of things happen here, how do they cheat the customers, how they extort the money, how the law enforcers support them in case of dispute? What type of calls they receive from girls, at odd hours?
what are its impact on levels of corruption? What are its impact on levels of divorce? on gambling? Many other?
